Development of Persuasive Speaking Skills Rubrics for Primary School Fourth Grade Students

The main purpose of speaking education is to enable individuals express their thoughts accurately and effectively in every environment they communicate. This possible with the teaching plan measurement tools for different speech types. research focuses on students’ persuasive skills. In this study, we aimed develop a rubric evaluate skills primary school fourth grade students Turkish. was designed quantitative method survey design. study group consists 100 studying school. A convenience sampling technique used determine group. data were collected five weeks through papers video recordings. process, asked choose one topic suggestions speeches present speeches. evaluated by two raters using prepared consulting expert opinion. evaluation results analysed, valid reliable created. It decided that would consist fourteen categories, including “planning”, “attracting attention”, “expressing problem situation”, solution”, “visualisation”, “directing action”, “supporting justifying thoughts”, “appealing emotions”, “subject integrity”, “starting ending conversation”, “voice utilisation”, “fluency”, “body language” “use time” three achievement levels as “high”, “medium” “low”. developed can be lessons teachers.
